The accompanying slideshow marks a new direction in my photographic endeavours and relief of sorts from the ennui I was feeling at the time of my last somewhat negative post.
Putting aside other matters, I’ve spent recent days culling, sorting, editing, and otherwise preparing a backlog of images from my drives for use in slideshows. These images are not chosen based on quality or potential for accolades from the web; they are simply to please myself and maybe a few close friends and family.
The exercise harkens back to the days when I’d arrange Kodachromes in carousel slide-trays to share adventure photos with my climbing buddies and family. That’s a hobby I hope to rekindle with this updated method of sharing simple pleasures.
I hope you enjoy this first chapter illustrating a trip to wild San Josef Bay on the northwest coast of Vancouver Island. More slideshows in this series — Travels with Heidi (a Volkswagen Golf station wagon) — are in production.

Kathy Brown - Great compilation video! Glad you have a new focus.March 4, 2018 – 4:14 pm
Raymond Parker - Thanks, Kathy. A the title indicates, this slideshow is the first in a series.March 4, 2018 – 10:09 pm
Lorraine Boate - Raymond, I really loved watching the video and the background music was awesome. Really enjoyable. Such lovely scenery makes me want to pack up the truck and check it out for ourselves. Maybe one day soon. Great job you two.March 4, 2018 – 1:05 pm
Raymond Parker - Loraine, if I inspired you to explore the area, my job is done. It really is one of the most spectacular beaches on the northwest coast that is relatively accessible. Mind you, the road is pretty nasty, at least for a regular car. If you have a truck, you should have no problem.March 4, 2018 – 10:06 pm
Susan - Raymond, that was really enjoyable. I loved the mix of slideshow and movie, and the music finished the presentation off nicely. That looked like a really nice trip. I noticed after it was finished and you signed off, there is now a selection of slideshows up including the one I just saw. Silly question but before I go through them after dinner….are they all yours or ? thanks again for sharing your work, you do have a wonderful ‘eye’ for your shots.March 3, 2018 – 5:58 pm
Raymond Parker - Glad you enjoyed it, Susan. What you’re probably seeing is YouTube’s “suggested videos,” which may include others of mine. If you want to see more of my videos, check out my channeldirectly, also linked in the social media icons above, just below the navigation menu.
