When everyone else is scrambling to “build their brand” online, neglecting to put one’s best face forward on the major social media platforms is a big mistake … one that I continue to make.
YouTube is a particularly powerful way to “get ahead in advertising.” I know from my first efforts how rewarding and potentially lucrative contributing to Google’s video hosting division can be. My cycling channel, The VeloWeb (which is sorely neglected), helped me survive a long convalescence after catastrophic injury, 9 years ago.
Some of the videos I made then still return a modest profit. But I’m concentrating on building my photography channel now. This introductory trailer is part of that goal.
My video production skills are also modest, though much improved over the last decade. I’ve dedicated nearly every day so far this year in further study and practice. The channel trailer embedded here is long overdue, and overly long according to expert advice. Anyone who knows me personally knows I can make a short story long, so perhaps it’s in character. Before I do the same here, I’ll let the video speak.
If you have a YouTube account (Here’s how, if you don’t) please give my video a like … or thumbs down if you don’t like it. Maybe drop a comment. If you really, really like it and want to see more, subscribe to my channel. There’s more to come.
Note that my YouTube channel as a whole is linked in the social media buttons on this page, top left.

Raymond Parker - Thanks, Susan. It’s a gentle poke at certain Canadian YouTube stars who are fond of POV shots using ground level camera angles.February 4, 2019 – 9:16 am
