30 Day Photo Challenge, Day 20: Climbing Doug

Photo of the day

Mount Douglas

Viewpoint, Mount Douglas, Victoria, BC

Mount Douglas was known by aboriginal Saanich and Songhees people as PKOLS [pq̕áls], meaning “White Head” in Senćoŧen dialect. It is clear, even on a cloudy day, why they used the mountain as a ceremonial site. The summit offers a stunning 360° view of surrounding land- and seascapes.

It was a wee bit chilly up there today, but I didn’t notice while I was busy making videos and stills for the 20th day of my 30 Day Photo Challenge. Coffee Time was just reward, however, for the two-thirds mark of this project.

    • Raymond Parker - Thanks. Worth the late night editing. 🙂November 21, 2018 – 10:38 amReplyCancel

  • Tom Hocking - Another relaxing yet informative clip. I’m learning a bit about this tidy end of our island that’s so relatively close to us. Your inclusion of other visitors and pets show Mt. Doug to be accessible to most, and the music track fits nicely, setting a friendly and inviting mood. Makes me want to be there  :0 }November 21, 2018 – 12:14 amReplyCancel

    • Raymond Parker - Thanks, Tom. Yes, access is “a doddle,” as we used to say. No ropes and ice-axes required. 🙂 The music is nice, huh? It was the second song I reviewed for the project.November 21, 2018 – 10:37 amReplyCancel
