30 Day Photo Challenge, Day 16: Over the hill, a bump and another hump

Photo of the day

Dominion Astrophysical Observatory, Saanich, BC

The Dominion Astrophysical Observatory, designed by Edgar Lewis Horwood, opened in 1918. Until the 1960s, it remained one of the world’s top astrophysical research centres. The observatory, located on Observatory Hill, in Saanich, BC, is a designated National Historic Site of Canada.

Today, I designated it “a beautiful spot” for the 16th location of my 30 Day Photo Challenge. After feeling like death warmed over yesterday, a day in the warm sun (is this really November?) was a welcome tonic.
