Several months ago, I received an email alerting me that a “package has been sent back with an invalid address sticker.”
The message, signed by “Nikon Canada,” referred to the Nikon Z Series Owners Club. Since I had no recollection of applying for membership in the club, I’d mentioned my Nikon Z6 camera purchase here, and considering the daily bombardment of phishing scams I receive, I ignored the email.
Until I received the same message again, last month. I decided to contact Nikon Canada in Ontario. Turns out it was legitimate and, long story short, I soon received my welcome package with its little collection of swag.
I must have applied for membership back in April, at the same time I submitted my mail-in rebates online. Put it down to a senior moment … or moving madness.
Since I released the video above, I’ve heard back from non-Canadian subscribers to my channel (you’re signed up, right?) that they aren’t eligible to join. Indeed, I haven’t been able to find an equivalent elsewhere, despite hearing Internet rumour that European members received a more generous members package, including a free XQD card. As I said, “Internet rumour.”
Anyway, I’ll let the video tell the rest of the story.
