Production area
The worker bees on the honeysuckle aren’t the only ones keeping busy this month; we’ve been hard at work with the first phase of producing a book featuring images from the Eighties Vancouver collection. As you can see, production is spilling beyond the confines of my office spaces as we spread out mock-ups to better imagine the whole. So, besides escapes to the garden and work in my “official” office, the photo above sums up how I spend my days, from morning toast and coffee, often until late at night.
The initial picture picks have been informed by a number of followers of my Facebook page and regular visitors to this site. Thanks very much to those who took the time to vote for your favourites. While I can’t guarantee I’ll include every pick, and the winning images will not be revealed outside the covers of the book (sorry about the embargo 🙂 ), we’re pretty excited about what we see so far. Most of the photos have been prepared for printing, at least preliminarily — test proofs will inform any further adjustment.
Cover design, thanks to a superb graphic artist, is ready for import into the layout. The final drafts of the forward and introduction, thanks to the contributor of the former and our wonderful editor, are complete. Yay! However, there’s a lot more work to do yet.
If you haven’t subscribed to the Facebook page and/or newsletter, that’s the best way to get alerts on progress of the book and all the other stuff created here. Questions and comments always welcome below.
