Joanne Parker Robertson (centre right), Artist

I might be accused of bias, but my sister, Joanne Parker Robertson, is a multitalented multimedia artist.

There was plenty of talent on display at Stinking Fish 2018 Fall Show in Metchosin, BC, but surely I can’t be blamed for focussing today’s photo and post on Joanne’s booth. As you can see, her creative talents range from sculpture to printmaking to horticulture (not shown today was her impressive portfolio of digital animation/Virtual Reality projects).

Perhaps she was also influenced by our father, a performing artist in the Vaudeville tradition. Anyway, I’ll let her bio describe her passion for art making.

“I love art and design, creating visual imagery in a multitude of mediums, and choosing the most appropriate form to express an idea. I received a BFA in Interdisciplinary Studies at Emily Carr University of Art & Design in 1991 …. My creative energy is fuelled by the challenge of finding a visual language which draws the viewer in, opening up new insights into life and the world around us.”
