Salish Sea and Olympic Mountains from Esquimalt Lagoon
Another summery November day (ambient temperature around 10℃) prompted a drive out into the country towards Sooke, BC. I quite forgot about photography until the drive back into Victoria. I wasn’t worried. A drop down to Ocean Boulevard, along Esquimalt Lagoon, around 4:30 pm rewarded my wife and I with this scene. While kids built a driftwood “fort” adults lounged on driftwood logs, some with their eyes glued to cellphones, while others walked their canine companions. I’m glad to see the woman at left is a responsible dog owner who picks up after her pooch.
But for the cooler temperatures, noticeable after the sun dipped behind the Olympic Mountains (in Washington State), the scene might be taken for an evening in July. We’re supposed to get a few more days of this before the rain returns next week.
